"The implementation of this project is one of the strategic steps towards more efficient use of energy resources and a contribution to environmental protection: the LED luminaires consume less electricity, reducing energy consumption for electricity generation and, at the same time, reducing carbon dioxide emissions," says Vaidotas Šileika, Managing Director of our company.

According to V.Šileika, since the beginning of the container terminal's operation, the lighting system has been improved several times, but with the expansion of the territory on Perkėlos Street and the intensive loading operations, it was necessary to modernize it by applying modern and energy-saving solutions.

During the six-month renovation works, the old metal halide and sodium luminaires were replaced by new, energy-efficient LED luminaires, which now have a total power of 120 kW. New 7 lighting supports were installed.

According to the CEO, KCT's aim is not only to ensure that the new systems installed at the terminal are environmentally friendly, but also that the new cargo handling equipment purchased will help to manage natural resources efficiently.
