Container Terminal
In 2024, the terminal handled a record volume of various cargo, totaling 6.94 million tons, including 499 129 TEU containers.
In 2024, KCT consistently implemented its investment plan, investing approximately €23 million into operational processes, infrastructure improvements, and new cargo-handling equipment. The terminal acquired modern handling equipment, including 2 STS (Ship-To-Shore) cranes, 2 RTG (Rubber Tire Gantry) cranes, an empty container handler, and other smaller handling equipment. This new equipment supports the company's goal of reducing environmental pollution.
The implementation of an automated gate system enabled full automation of access to the container terminal area. Gate automation increases the throughput capacity of the terminal gates and provides benefits for truck drivers, the environment, and the city. Drivers now access the container terminal at their scheduled time, completing all arrival formalities within a couple of minutes without leaving their trucks.
