On January 24 m/v Marco Polo, the new ferry of TT-Line, has berthed at KCT ro-ro and general cargo terminal. It symbolizes beginning of a partnership between KCT and TT-Line for development of ro-ro service between Trelleborg in Sweden and Klaipeda.

During the last two months KCT upgraded its ro-ro facility to meet modern requirements and offered to TT-Line a brand-new office with a passenger hall and children’s area. Marco Polo will call Klaipeda three times per week with more frequency in the future. The ship can transport up to 140 ro-ro units and 215 passengers.

KCT started operations as a ro-ro terminal in 1994 and has many years of experience in serving this type of cargo. In the last decade however, the terminal had no regular ro-ro service and specialized in containers and general cargo. Now it is emerging as a modern Ro/Pax terminal.

“We have invested a lot in upgrading our terminal to new standards and are committed to develop premier service in partnership with TT-Line. Our port area has also the advantage of shifting truck traffic from the city centre to outskirts reducing the impact on residential areas. “.- said Vaidotas Šileika, CEO of KCT.
