We have become the leading cargo terminal in the Baltic States!
Once again, we have made history by handling nearly 7 million tons of various cargo (6.94 million tons) in 2024. This achievement solidified our position as the cargo leaders among Baltic ports.

This accomplishment is significant not only for our company but also for Lithuania's cargo sector and national economy. By becoming regional leaders, we strengthen the position of Klaipėda Port in the international market and contribute to the economic growth of the region. The increase in cargo volumes creates new jobs, boosts orders for local suppliers, and drives sector development.
Results Achieved in 2024:
-
We handled 6.94 million tons of cargo, an 11% increase compared to 2023, when the cargo volume was 6.27 million tons.
-
We processed 499,129 TEU containers, up from 494,062 TEU in 2023.
-
Ro-Ro cargo volumes reached 1.158 million tons, a 49% increase compared to 2023.
-
We handled 928,000 tons of general cargo, a 45% increase compared to 2023.
-
We serviced 1,154 cargo ships.

The year 2024 stood out as a year of growth for Ro-Ro and general cargo. The growth in ferry cargo volumes was driven by the launch of new direct routes by TT-Line to Karlshamn (Sweden) and Travemünde (Germany). Currently, the Ro-Ro terminal serves seven ferry routes weekly. The increase in general cargo volumes was primarily due to a higher-than-usual handling of specialized cargo, such as metal products, fertilizers, and wind turbine components. Wind turbine cargo alone grew by 58% compared to 2023.
Despite the fact that high container shipping costs led to some cargo being transported outside of containers last year, the overall growth in Lithuania’s exports and imports ensured a positive trend in container handling, measured in TEU.
Over the past year, we invested approximately €23 million in operational processes, infrastructure improvements, and new cargo-handling equipment. The terminal was upgraded with modern equipment, including 2 STS (Ship-To-Shore) cranes, 2 RTG (Rubber Tire Gantry) cranes, an empty container handler, and other smaller handling machinery. This equipment aligns with the company’s commitment to reducing environmental pollution.
We also implemented an automated gate system, fully automating entry to the container terminal area. Gate automation increases terminal throughput and benefits truck drivers, the environment, and the city. Drivers now enter the terminal at a scheduled time and complete all entry formalities within minutes without leaving their trucks.
For the sixth consecutive year, we rank among the top 15% of the strongest companies in Lithuania. This recognition reflects our positive economic standing, financial results, and contribution to Lithuania’s economic development and fair business culture.
