KCT accepted the advanced technology vessel E-Ship 1
On September 3 KCT discharged windmill cargo from E-Ship 1 considered to be the most advanced cargo ship in the world.
E-Ship 1 is a new generation cargo vessel built at Lindenau shipyard (Kiel ) on the order of Enercon, one of the world's leading wind turbine producers, only a year ago. The innovative ship structure, developed by Enercon is equipped with 4 wind rotors allowing to harness wind energy. The rotors working on the so-called Magnus effect increase ship propulsion thus allowing to save 30 - 40% of fuel. With this revolutionary innovation Enercon demonstrated that wind energy could be used not only in wind turbines, but also for improving ship propulsion and reduction of emissions.
E-Ship 1 has brought 6 wind mills for the wind energy park built in Silute region (Lithuania).
